Shalom brothers and sisters in Yahusha
I was searching for answers and came across this site, it's been heavy on me again I need to spiritually clean my house first time was almost 4 years ago but I didnt have complete comprehension of how deep that went and currently working on it but a sister is saying I shouldn't have pictures of my granddaughters on my walls or any pictures ?? I havent heard anything else about that except like taxidermy, wolf, eagles and fish pictures , marine kingdom ect I'm having trouble and hope a brother or sister in Yahusha has some knowledge on this
Hello. I agree with our brother and sister. I do not think it is sinful to have photographs of your family members in your house or in your walls as long as you do not place them above the Father, which would in effect be idolizing then. Messiah Yahusha warned us that we are not to love our family more than we love him. At one of my previous fellowships I posed these questions to my brethren, and I caused quite a stir, but I would like to ask them here: if a government enforcer came into your house and threatened your liberty or life if you did not renounce His Name would you say "No"? Now, if that same enforcer threatened your spouse, child(ren), grandchild(ren), or parent(s) with imprisonment or death if you did not renounce His Name would you still say "No"? Now, what would you do if everyone else in your family had already renounced Him? These are difficult questions to consider, but remember that the enemy will attack your weaknesses not your strengths. Also remember that things like this have indeed happened in the past and I believe they will happened again in the not too distant future.
Hi, it is nice to meet you here. Yes, it is important to be spiritually clean. The Torah sets out that we must be clean from sin to draw close to the Father. This applies to us now, remember the story of Nadab and Abihu in Leviticus 10, who came before the father with false fire.
The requirements about images in the Torah is about creating and worshiping false deities and idols. I don't think that photos of family members should fall into that category unless you treated them as such.
Your sister may be getting a little tied up in her understanding, happy to have a chat with you both if that would help
